The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board has embarked on initiatives that will enlighten the tourism sector there as to the importance of becoming environmentally sensitive.

They will be holding a Sustainable Tourism Management Orientation Seminar on 7th May at Maria’s by the Sea conference room and on the 8th May at Treasure Isle Hotel conference room beginning at 9:00 a.m in the morning.

The seminar will also be held on Virgin Gorda on the 9th May at Virgin Gorda’s Administration Building from 9:30 a.m

The sessions will cover a range of topics, including the impact of climate change, and greening your property.

Acting Director of Tourism Malcia Smith-Hamilton says they have taken up the torch under the leadership of the Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. D Orlando Smith and have taken the responsible approach to protecting and sustaining one of our key products.

“The BVI Tourist Board understands that the future of tourism depends on the quality of the environment, and we will continue to do all we can to help transition this territory into a more sustainable destination,” she said.
